It all started in the carpool lane…

On the way to their 9-5 job for a general contractor in Portland, Ismael and Isaias quickly realized they not only had great chemistry as friends, but the same goal as professionals – to create something with a lasting legacy using their undeniable passion for the construction industry and their combined 30+ years of experience.

And thus, the idea for I&I construction was born. Working tirelessly before their official launch in 2020, Ismael and Isaias leveraged their industry expertise and respected reputation to build a solid foundation for the company, resulting in satisfied clients across commercial and residential spaces.

Isaias Hernandez

Co-Owner, Journeyman Carpenter
10+ Years in the Industry

Isaias is a skilled journeyman carpenter, superintendent and business co-owner with over a decade of experience in the construction industry under his belt. During his time as a superintendent for a general contractor, Isaias led commercial and residential renovation projects, specializing in high-rise luxury apartment buildings across the Portland metropolitan area. Isaias has extensive experience managing trades on site, overseeing custom carpentry work, meeting tight turnaround schedules, preserving historic building features, and the careful art of building courteously around residents and neighbors. He believes it’s the combination of his industry expertise, project management skills and friendly disposition that have kept I&I Builders so busy.

Ismael Miranda Gaona

Co-Owner, Journeyman Carpenter
20+ Years in the Industry

Ismael has 20+ years of experience working in the construction industry, serving as a skilled journeyman carpenter and later as a foreman on commercial and residential projects in the Portland metropolitan area. As a foreman, Ismael has experience leading day-to-day operations on projects with multi-million dollar contract values, serving as a vital bridge between management and field personnel. Ismael values strong team communication to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently. As co-owner of I&I Builders, he brings that dedication and attention to detail to every project for I&I Builders – whether it’s a single family home or commercial renovation.
